Service Dogs

Service Dogs enable the disabled.Upon successful completion of their training, the dogs are placed with their disabled partner.

Wilderwood Service Dogs trains service dogs to help individuals with brain illnesses cope with the struggles of daily life.

Since the 1940's, service dogs have been changing the lives of partners with disabilities.

Wilderwood dogs serve partners with:

  • Emotional Disorders
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Alzheimer and Dementia
  • Autism and Mental Retardation
  • Brain Injury (traumatic or chemical)

While providing love and companionship, service dogs immediately increase their partner's independence and level of functioning.

  • Support client and get help during a mental crisis
  • Provide stress reduction and break social barriers
  • Remind and retrieve medication
  • Balance, open doors, turn on/off lights, retrieve items and much more
